Welcome Kleiton Kühn - A new vice leader for the Brazil Chapter

The BCI is pleased to welcome Kleiton Kühn as new vice leader for the Brazil Chapter. In this spotlight feature Kleiton shares his vision for the Chapter’s future.
What motivated you to take on the vice leader role for the Brazil Chapter?
My relationship with the BCI began after I earned my certification and became a member. During this time, I started identifying professionals within Brazil who shared a similar passion for business continuity. Together, we established a group of over 230 BCM professionals, which eventually led to the foundation of the BCI Chapter Brazil in 2020. I had the honour of being elected as the first chairman, and now, as vice leader, I am thrilled to once again represent this outstanding community. It has been incredibly fulfilling to witness the Chapter's growth (more than 100%) and contribute to the advancement of resilience and business continuity practices in our region.
How will the Chapter enhance the resilience and business continuity community in your area?
The Chapter offers an essential platform for collaboration, professional growth, and knowledge-sharing. Through locally tailored initiatives, events, and resources, we aim to empower members to address challenges specific to our region. More importantly, the Chapter fosters connections and mutual support, which are vital to strengthening resilience and business continuity practices. By working together, we can collectively enhance our capabilities and make a meaningful impact.
In your opinion, what are the key challenges facing your region today and how might the Chapter address them?
One of the significant challenges facing our region is the limited proficiency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish, among business continuity professionals. This barrier restricts access to global resources and opportunities for professional development. The Chapter can help address this by prioritising the availability of translated materials and initiatives designed to bridge the language gap. By doing so, we can create a more inclusive environment that supports the growth of professionals in Brazil and enhances their ability to thrive in an interconnected world.
What are your long-term goals for the Chapter?
My long-term vision for the Chapter involves expanding its role in promoting language diversity within the BCI. This includes advocating for more multilingual content, such as articles, events, books, and certification exams in Portuguese. As the sixth most widely spoken language globally, Portuguese presents an incredible opportunity to engage professionals not just in Brazil but across other Portuguese-speaking countries. By increasing accessibility and inclusivity, I hope to grow the number of certified professionals and amplify the voice of Portuguese speakers within the global business continuity community.
