At the 6th Regional Cybersecurity Forum of Galicia, held in Coruña, Spain, prominent leaders and cybersecurity experts gathered to discuss the challenges and advancements in the field of cyber security. The event was attended by Miguel Corgos López-Prado, Minister of Finance and Public Administration of the Xunta de Galicia, who highlighted the importance of this meeting: "This is an essential event for the exchange of knowledge about cybersecurity in the community." He also emphasized that Galicia, "despite being one of the most dispersed territories in the country, acts as a unit of destiny, taking on the responsibility of collaborating against threats and complex tasks."

The event included ten presentations addressing current topics such as the Nis2 regulation, artificial intelligence (AI), and deep fake. It provided a platform to exchange ideas and solutions among attendees, consolidating Galicia as a reference in this field.

Presentation of the Agreement between ISMS Forum and BCI

One of the key moments of the event was the presentation of the Agreement between The BCI and ISMS Forum, led by Cristina Pereira Gestoso, Global Head of Business Continuity, Resilience and Crisis Management at ABANCA, and Uxía Fernández González MBCI. Both professionals were recently appointed, thanks to this alliance, as members of the new Technical Operational Committee for Business Continuity (CRC) of ISMS Forum.

The agreement, signed in December 2024, aims to promote business continuity, cybersecurity, and organizational resilience. The collaboration, initially valid for one year with automatic renewal, will focus on activities within Spain.

Main areas of collaboration

  • Management of the Spanish chapter of BCI by ISMS Forum.
  • Share information and resources.
  • Promotion of a culture of business continuity and cybersecurity.

Benefits of the alliance

For both the BCI and the ISMS Forum, this agreement enhances the specialization in business continuity and resilience, complementing their current capabilities and expanding their reach. Additionally, it facilitates access to superior logistical and organizational capacity, improving the efficiency and impact of their activities.

Mutually, both organizations will leverage synergies between key disciplines such as information security, cybersecurity, privacy, and business continuity. This will offer an integrated perspective focused on organizational resilience, extending the network to a broader community and fostering a stronger and more connected community.

David Thorp, Director of The BCI, commented:

"This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our shared mission to enhance business continuity, cybersecurity, and organizational resilience. By combining our expertise and resources, we are poised to deliver even greater value to our members and the broader community. Together, we will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that our organizations are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern digital landscape."
