We are excited to announce the introduction of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), a brand new BCI Member benefit that takes a step toward promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the business continuity and resilience community.

The SIGs will provide a platform for like-minded BCI Members to connect, discuss challenges, share best practices, and stay updated on emerging trends. By joining a SIG, BCI Members will gain access to a community of experts and resources that will help them to gain new knowledge and skills.

There are two types of SIGs: SIG Groups and SIG Forums.

  • SIG Groups designed to be output-focused, providing practical and tangible outcomes to members.
  • SIG Forums focused on networking and discussion.

The SIG Leaders will play a crucial role in driving the success and impact of the SIGs. The Leaders will be knowledgeable, experienced professionals who will guide discussions, curate valuable content, and foster an engaging environment within their groups. Their experience and enthusiasm will contribute to the growth and development of SIGs, benefiting the entire BCI community.

Active participation in SIGs is encouraged for BCI Members that wish to make the most of their BCI Membership. Whether as SIG members or aspiring SIG Leaders, being involved in these groups will fuel collective growth, enable industry-wide collaboration, and promote business continuity and resilience.

The diverse range of SIGs available will ensure that members can find a group that aligns with their interests and career goals. The BCI will support the formation of SIGs and SIG Forums  that address global areas of interest and promote the exchange of ideas, best practices, and research.

The process for creating a SIG will involve presenting a proposal to demonstrate the need for a SIG, along with a one-year plan of activities. The proposal will undergo review and approval by the BCI Board to ensure alignment with the organization's objectives

The introduction of SIGs by the BCI represents a valuable opportunity for members to engage, learn, and contribute to the field of business continuity and resilience. These groups will provide a supportive and collaborative environment that empowers professionals to stay ahead of industry developments and make a lasting impact on the profession.
