BCI Global Award 2024 winner spotlight: EXL Service

We are pleased to introduce EXL Service – winner of 2024’s Most Effective Recovery Global Award.
At the 2024 BCI World Hybrid annual conference, EXL Service was chosen by a panel of experienced judges as the overall winner of the Global Award for Most Effective Recovery. This award is presented to organizations that have suffered significantly from disruption but have managed to ‘bounce back’ and demonstrate resilience.
The judges praised EXL Service’s ability to recover following two major incidents: Cyclone Michaung and the Santaco taxi strike. They said:
“Cyclone Michaung caused widespread power outages and severe flooding, leading to a 48% disruption in services. The organization quickly invoked their recovery strategies, relocating operations to non-affected sites and prioritising critical services. Within 48 hours they had restored 70% of their operations. The Santaco taxi strike lasted seven days and created serious safety concerns with a 47% disruption in service delivery. The company quickly implemented control measures recovering 88% of services also within 48 hours.
Their success is due to proactive continuity and resilience planning, including establishing crisis management teams, employee cross-training and stress-testing recovery solutions.”
