We are pleased to introduce Elizabeth Sartorelli AMBCI winner of the 2024 BCI Continuity & Resilience Professional (Public Sector) Global Award.

At BCI World Hybrid 2024 conference Elizabeth Sartorelli AMBCI was chosen by a panel of experienced judges as the overall winner of the Global Award for Continuity and Resilience Professional in the Public Sector. This award is presented to an individual who has used creative and original approaches within their employing organization to improve overall resilience while working in the public sector.

Elizabeth said:

“It’s amazing to be able to represent and shine a light on some of the great work happening within the New Zealand Government Sector in Continuity and Resilience - I’m proud to be part of a very capable and tight-knit community of practitioners. This award is very fulfilling for me personally, as it reminds me just how far in my journey and to achieve only a few months before I go on maternity leave feels like a crowning achievement.”

The BCI judging panel praised the innovative ways in which Elizabeth developed a cost-effective resilience programme, despite budget cuts, which led to effective responses:

“Elizabeth quickly addressed gaps in her department’s incident management and business continuity plans, leading to effective responses during numerous incidents.

Faced with budget cuts in February 2024, she developed a cost-effective resilience programme and secured support for a large-scale government exercise, reinforcing a culture of resilience. This practical approach combined theoretical knowledge and experience to create strong response solutions.”
