The BCI is pleased to welcome Abitha Mohan MBCI as the New Delhi, India Chapter Leader. Abitha is a resilience professional with a decade of experience who discovered the world of resilience following a large-scale incident in 2015. Since then, Abitha has worked with organizations to strengthen their resilience, and supported business leaders with the insights needed to navigate crises.

Why were you interested in leading the Chapter?

This is an exciting opportunity for me to make a meaningful impact in a field that I'm deeply passionate about. Business continuity professionals bring unique expertise from their diverse experiences across industries, and I believe that effective collaborations amongst us will open up pathways to explore the latest trends, insights, challenges and innovation in the field of resilience. As leader of the BCI New Delhi Chapter, I aim to build a strong network and forge connections with professionals that bring their invaluable skill sets to the table. This role will also help me maintain a beginner's mindset, embracing fresh perspectives.

What are your priorities for the Chapter in the coming year?

As Chapter Leader, my priority is to create networking opportunities that connect new members with their peers in the industry. Regionally, I aim to drive initiatives that bring business continuity practitioners together for meaningful discussions that accelerate continuous improvements in the discipline.

Given India’s cultural diversity, I’m eager to explore opportunities to collaborate with leaders and members from the other regional Chapters to collectively build a strong sense of community.

What specific aspects of the Chapter’s work are you most passionate about?

In today's unpredictable risk landscape, it is crucial for business continuity practitioners to stay informed about sustainable solutions through effective collaborations. I’m particularly passionate about fostering peer-to-peer learning opportunities by facilitating forums that harness the collective intelligence of business continuity professionals, both regionally and globally. I look forward to creating an inclusive environment and building a strong sense of community among members in the region.

On a final note, my mentors played a pivotal role in the early stages of my resilience career, and now I feel it’s my time to guide others as they navigate their paths in this field.

I’d like to encourage new members to join the Chapter. You can join here or via the LinkedIn page. I look forward to welcoming you.
