A new leadership for the BCI Operational Resilience Special Interest Group (SIG)
As previously announced, the new Operational Resilience Special Interest Group (SIG) is designed for those practitioners implementing operational resilience programmes and for those wanting to learn more about this important and growing area. The SIG aims to create a space where practitioners can share, discuss, and exchange ideas, as well as to help those in countries where operational resilience regulation has yet to be implemented learn from those where it is already in place.
One of the key objectives of a SIG is to serve as an expert resource to the BCI and its members “on knowledge, best practices, and the development of policies and strategies related to business continuity and resilience.” In this sense, we hope that the new Operational Resilience SIG can serve as a knowledge-sharing hub where those making ground in this rapidly developing field can share experiences with those seeking direction.
The SIG may also be used more broadly than for regulated organizations alone. Industries all over the globe have their own operational resilience rules and guidance (such as the aviation sector), as well as organizations adopting operational resilience for good practice reasons. In these cases, organizations will benefit significantly from being part of this SIG and learning from those who are mandated to follow the regulations and/or industry standards.
We are pleased to introduce the leadership and committee members for this SIG:
James Lodge FBCI - Leader
Ratna Pawan MBCI - Vice Leader
Uxia Fernandez MBCI - Committee member
Rob Cooke MBCI - Committee member
