The Business Impact Analysis defines the requirements for the organization's business continuity protection. ISO describes the BIA process by way of a Technical Specification - a document that explains HOW to perform the process. This webinar explains ISO's view of the key aspects of the BIA process and then presents a number of techniques for setting the Recovery Time Objective.

    International Standards - An update of the changing landscape

    ISO Standards are going through change. Our existing foundation standards (ISO 22301 and 22313) are being modified (some may say significantly) and new standards are being development.

    It's important to understand the direction the global BC thought leadership is taking our discipline to decide what it means for you and your organisation's BCMS.

    Biography

    Saul is very highly regarded as a Business Continuity and Crisis Management expert, which is best evidenced by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) awarding Saul:

    • Global Business Continuity Consultant of the Year in 2013;
    • Australasian Business Continuity Consultant of the Year in 2013; and
    • Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute in 2014.

    Saul runs BC projects for clients, educates Executive Managers, authors BCM Thought Leadership articles, is a popular conference presenter (i.e. over 50 public presentations plus nine off-shore, including Canada, China, Fiji, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Africa), Public Workshop Facilitator and LinkedIn BCM Groups Correspondent.

    Saul also:

    • Represents BCI Australia on the Standards Australia Technical Committee MB025 for Security and Resilience;
    • Represents Australia on the International Standards Organization Technical Committee 292 for Security and Resilience which includes all matters BCM;
    • Is the Global Project Manager for the systematic review of ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management; and Is a Certified ISO22301 Lead Auditor (PECB).

    As the Business Continuity and Resilience Executive at Terra Firma, Saul is responsible for the management of the BCM Consulting Division - including the development and management of consulting staff and the delivery of BCM projects to clients.

    Wasim Malik FBCI

    Wasim Malik (FBCI, MBCP, GRI, CRISC, GRCP/A, ITIL Expert) is a highly experienced and respected expert in the field of Business Continuity, with over 20 years of experience in Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management. He is a Fellow of the BCI and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2018 for his significant contributions to the industry.

    Wasim is known for his expertise in developing and implementing BC solutions that help organizations minimise the impact of disruptive events. He has worked with a wide range of organizations across industries and is a registered trainer and auditor for ISO standards related to BC, information security, and environmental management.

    Wasim has also contributed extensively to the industry through his leadership in industry associations, speaking at events, conducting audits and training, authoring articles, and participating in the development of industry tools and guides. He is a big advocate of ESG and believes that ESG is an integral part of resilience and should be integrated into organizational strategies.

    Overall, Wasim is a highly respected and accomplished professional in the field of Business Continuity.
