Join the BCI Women in Resilience (WiR) Special Interest Group (SIG) for a pivotal and enlightening event as we discuss “Championing female leadership in resilience – skills and tactics for breaking into and influencing the C-Suite”. The number of women within the C-Suite is the highest it has ever been at 28% (McKinsey, Women in the Workplace report: 2023), but how did they get there and how can we influence them and their counterparts?

Kristen Anderson
CEO and Board Member, European Women on Boards
Kristen is currently the CEO of European Women on Boards (EWOB), a member of the EWOB Board since 2021 and leads the EWOB Executive Committee. EWOB is the European umbrella association for gender equality at decision-making level; a non-profit organization whose aim is to increase gender diversity in C-Suite and Board roles throughout Europe and beyond.
From 2016-2021, Kristen was Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Barilla and had been a member of its D&I Board since its formation in 2013. Kristen reported to the CEO of Barilla and led a 12 member D&I Board, comprised of internal members from 8 regions and external advisors.
After a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Kristen worked in the food industry for over 25 years, leading various R&D teams in diverse geographies such as Australia, Germany, China, India, South Africa, Singapore, Italy and originally the USA.

Rebecca Gee
Operational Resilience Senior Manager, Protiviti
Rebecca is a Senior Manager and operational resilience specialist at Protiviti with a focus on the financial services sector. She has worked across the three lines of defence to design, implement, assess and improve resilience, business continuity and crisis management frameworks in both the UK and globally, and has delivered large-scale resilience transformation programmes, regulatory-mandated assessments and live responses. Rebecca’s favourite subject is scenario testing and exercising, and how this drives the embedding of resilience.

Award-winning Diversity & Inclusion Leader and Career & Mindset Coach
Lucile is a career, mindset and leadership coach with over 5 years of experience working with clients on topics such as career vision, navigating change and resilience. Lucile also has over a decade of experience as an award-winner Diversity and Inclusion leader in industries spanning professional services, media and the built environment. Her infectious energy helps her clients truly believe that nothing is out of reach. Lucile is a passionate advocate for women's advancement and is deeply committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace. She is committed to leading her clients on a transformative journey towards realising their full potential. She’s also a certified breathwork coach.

Emma Stringer
Disaster Recovery Manager, Gamma
Emma Stringer is a Disaster Recovery Manager at Gamma Communications PLC. Passionate about disaster prevention and mitigation, she has undertaken the task of centralising disaster recovery management whilst integrating it into the robust business continuity management programme already in place. In conjunction with her day-to-day role, she also actively participates in specialist groups within the business; the Women at Gamma Community and the LGBTQ+ Community. As well as this, she also takes the time to visit schools across the Greater Manchester area to discuss opportunities and ways to get into STEM Careers and discuss gender bias and how to overcome the challenge to hundreds of secondary school students. Known for her extensive IT and telecommunications skills, professional demeanour, and her willingness to ensure any opportunity to excel is monopolies upon, this has been recognised with her being shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year at the 2024 CIR awards within her first year in role.
