Business Continuity and Risk Manager

Location: Leeds
Salary: Around £35,000
Industry: Financial Services

Ensure that all areas of company have effective Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans which comply fully with Group standards. Champion the provision of contingency within the business, providing direction and support, regarding planning and provision. Provide guidance and support to the emergency management team, in a crisis situation.
Work with operational managers across the business to Identify and manage risks. Ensure that operational losses are investigated and reported correctly, and internal controls are put in place to facilitate high standards of corporate governance.

Key accountabilities

1. Manage a full programme of contingency plan development to ensure appropriate plans are in place to aid efficient recovery from an incident or disaster and to ensure business continuity.

2. Define and influence Business Continuity Strategy ensuring this is understood and formally sponsored by executive management

3. Manage a schedule of contingency plan testing including an annual disaster simulation exercise to ensure plans and key roles and responsibilities are well rehearsed and workable when required to be invoked in the event of a disaster or serious incident.

4. Evaluate the risks pertaining to specific business areas to assess the requirements for contingency plans and prioritise respective developments. Identify and address gaps in current contingency provision to ensure that our provision is comprehensive and meaningful.

5. Provide an expert consultancy on the standards of business contingency planning to all business areas, promoting and stimulating interest in the subject. Keep up to date with all relevant regulations, directives and legislation concerning Business Continuity

6. Manage the relationship with internal work area recovery providers and ensure internal contingency site facilities are maintained and capable of being immediately invoked to support business contingency requirements.

7. Provide advice and support to the emergency management team in a crisis situation and conduct Post Incident Reviews.

8. Facilitate departmental risk assessment exercises

9. Perform internal control reviews and make recommendations regarding the design of the control regime.

10. Investigate operational losses and ensure that they are properly reported.
