Managing Risk and Resilience in the Supply Chain
by David Kaye FBCI
Helping you manage the supply chain strategy – from raw materials to finished goods
This book takes a practical approach to managing risk and resilience, to guide you through the minefield associated with the supply chain, in order to shape a suitable management strategy. It looks at the ways that supply chains can fail, either suddenly or gradually, over a period of time. It discusses the opportunities, and analyzes the threats, in order to gain an understanding of the strategic risk and management of supply chains.
A diverse supply chain can be a way to spread the level of risk, but it can also create potentially disruptive vulnerabilities. Getting the balance right will make for a successful supply chain and reduced risk.
David Kaye is a lecturer and workshop leader on risk management and continuity subjects and guides a wide range of companies and public sector organizations around the world, including Europe, the Caribbean and the Far East.

Practical Business Continuity Management
Top Tips for Effective, Real-World Business Continuity Management
Andy Osborne
Whether you're a new or an experienced practitioner, and whatever your specific role within your organisation, if you have an interest in implementing and maintaining an effective business continuity management programme, this book is for you.
It contains dozens of useful and practical tips, distilled from many years experience developing, maintaining and testing business continuity strategies, solutions and plans; tips that will help you to develop and maintain a business continuity capability, rather than just a business continuity plan; tips for getting the best out of your business continuity programme in the real world.
This book won't tell you how to "do" business continuity management. It won't give you chapter and verse on the various elements of the business continuity management process. It won't bang on about "lifecycles" or "methodologies" or "benchmarking" or "best practice" - there are plenty of books around that do that, if that's what you want. What it will do is give you dozens of helpful, practical tips to use at various stages of your business continuity management programme - tips that will help you, as they have helped others, to make your BCM programme a success.

'I Knew You'd Come' : Stories from a Firefighter
Currently working for Nokia as a fulltime Senior Business Continuity Specialist with global responsibilities, Colin Ive was also, for 25 years, until his recent retirement, a part-time firefighter at a busy town fire station located in northern Hampshire. He was the Officer in Charge for 23 years dealing with disaster management on a daily basis and attending over 3,800 incidents in this time, ranging from the famous Windsor Castle Fire, through to fatal air crashes, road accidents and yes even cats stuck up trees. This gave him a clear understanding of just what disasters can mean to a business and, most importantly, people in general.
Following his retirement he has written a book in which he tells many of the stories of the people and incidents he encountered. One reviewer has described it as 'Humorous, Moving and Informative' and he didn't even have to pay her!
Price is £7.99 plus £1.25 postage and to order just drop Colin an email to colin.ive@smecontinuity.com |
