Introduction
Business Continuity Awareness Week is firmly fixed in the calendar of business continuity practitioners with the main focus of the week being to raise awareness with colleagues and clients and show the growing importance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) as an integral management tool.
Centrally, the Business Continuity Institute aims to raise understanding of BCM with leading opinion formers in government and industry. During 2007 the Business Continuity Institute launched the BCI Partnership as a way of working with organisations to raise the profile of the discipline and to encourage corporate excellence in BCM. BCI Partners include: Milton Keynes Council , Marsh, SunGard , ICM Business Continuity Services , Continuity Shop, BP International, Prudential, Cabinet Office - Civil Contingencies Secretariat, EADS, HBOS, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Continuity SA, Texonet Limited, BT, Hewlett-Packard, EDS, 4C Strategies AB, eBRP Solutions Network, Continuity Central, BSI Management Systems, Crisis Solutions, Garrison Continuity, IBM, NCC, AON Risk Consulting, ABN Amro Bank, ABS Consulting, Getronics and De Boer Structures.
To enable BCI members and partners to participate fully in Business Continuity Awareness Week, the BCI have produced various resources which are downloadable below.

Business Continuity Management The Human Dimension : A BCI Summit Meeting
Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, March 25th 2009
People are often quoted as an organisation’s most important asset. So where are they in your Business Continuity Management plans and what role should the HR department play?
This summit will feature:
• A case study from BCM and HR leads at Abbey-Santander
• The results of a major survey of 133,000 HR professionals in the UK
• Comment from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the law firm Bircham Dyson Bell and BCM/HR professionals.
The summit will run from 10.00am until 12.00noon. Coffee will be served from 9.30am with refreshments available from 12.00 for those who wish to stay and network.
